In completing this project, I have developed critical skills for my future career in a museum. I have gained insight into curating Native American artifacts by identifying them individually, measuring and cataloging them, taking pictures, and putting them in their respective containers. My hope is to use this knowledge at the Penn Museum and/or the American Philosophical Society this summer where I expect to work with Native American artifacts.

As a tutor for SOAN Research Methods, I was able to work directly with the students taking the course and assist them with any questions they had. I hosted office hours weekly online and in person. The students were encouraged to stop by to get help in understanding material better and get their work checked. I improved my skills in peer mentoring and communication. This experience helped me brush up on my research skills for the graduate-level course, AMST Research Methods during Spring 2023.
In completing this project, I was able to use my creative skills and create an informative website that shed light on meat consumption and its impact on the environment. Climate change is caused by human interactions with the Earth, and is affecting the weather and drastic temperatures we experience daily. By creating a website for the public to see, I challenged the everyday act of eating meat and revealed its negative effects. I also provided evidence, alternatives, and a case study. By doing this research, I better understood climate change and how capitalism allowed for the Anthropocene era to exist. Climate justice is just as important as social justice.

It's important to look at the inequality that exists in the country. To get a sense of what that looks like, I focused on the average incomes of women and households in Atlantic County, NJ, and the USA. It was interesting to compare these three locations and understand that Atlantic County is very marginalized economically. By creating my own charts and graphs, I was able to make a visual to better comprehend the economic inequality present and provide evidence for the drastic differences from 2010 to 2019. Conducting this research helped me recognize the locality of socioeconomic inequality and how its effects play out in everyday life.
