Our first class in Intermediate Algebra is meant to be a gateway into several other math classes depending on the student's area of study. This class covers expressions, linear equalities and inequalities, functions and relations, and exponential and logarithmic equations and expressions.

Our two-course Precalculus Series (141/142) is meant to prepare students for Calculus.

The first Precalculus course covers the algebra of functions and their graphs. For example, we see polynomial, rational, radical, exponential, and logarithmic functions.

The second Precalculus course largely comprises trigonometry and its applications. It also includes parametric equations, polar coordinates, and conic sections.

The second course of our Calculus Sequence addresses integration and its applications including length, area, volume, work, length, and separable differential equations.

This course covers vectors, matrices, linear transformations, and vector spaces. Various applications are also covered. I like to do the least-squares problem, and sometimes I get to do random walks on graphs and the Google Algorithm.

We offer two Statistics classes: Intro to Stats (146) and Elements of Statistical Methods (211).

Both classes address data analysis, linear regressions, distributions, survey and experiment design, and inferential statistics. MATH211 uses a programming language called R to expand this exploration.
