At this workshop, we discussed the application and integration of nanotechnology for various perspectives of biological plant and animal research. FIB/SEM microscope technology allows investigation of 3D cell component structure and chromosomal organization that cannot be observed with current standard protocol, using applications to both animals and reptiles. Gold nanoparticles can be used to combat plant and animal diseases by fast, easy and reliable detection methods without the need of extensive laboratory equipment.
