Why am I learning this?

The purpose of this learning experience is to allow you to research and think critically about where our electricity comes from and its true cost to both consumers and the environment. If the general population understands where their electricity comes from they will be in a better position to make decisions on whether there are more efficient, less environmentally damaging methods for Nova Scotians to get their electricity. Having this learning experience be mainly student led allows for you to come to your own conclusions about this topic rather than having the teacher simply tell you that coal fire plants are bad for the environment.
