Instructions
For this learning experience you will be doing some research on how electricity is produced here in NS and its environmental impact. For this project there are some key questions you will need to answer.
· How is the majority of electricity produced at a generating station in NS?
· How does electricity get from the generating station to your home?
· What are alternative ways to produce electricity here in NS?
· What are the environmental impacts involved with producing electricity the way we do in NS?
· What are some things you can do to reduce your, or your communities consumption of electricity?
Format
You may answer these key questions in a number of ways:
· Essay (2 pages minimum)
o The essay will be double spaced 12 point font.
o You may use the key questions as headers to help organize the essay.
o This does not need to be a formal essay.
o Must have a resources section.
· PowerPoint presentation.
o This presentation should be minimum 7 slides and should include video and pictures that are related to the topic you are researching.
· Podcast.
o This option can be completed in pairs as a conversation about the issues presented that you have researched.
o Your podcast should be minimum 5 mins long and will need to have a 1 page text summary of the conversation.
· Student choice.
o If there is another option that I have not thought of that you would like to use then let me know through email or through google class and we can discuss other options.
Whichever method you choose for your project you will need to include a list of all the resources you used in your research. This includes all videos and articles you use. Make sure to check the resources tab on this site to help you get started on your research.
