Nova Scotia Virtual School

If you are interested in taking a course via NSVS next school year 2025-26, 

please follow the link below, and complete the form. 

• The Nova Scotia Virtual School provides online high school courses to students who are currently enrolled and attending public high schools in NS.  

• Recommendation: NSVS course should be only 1 of the 4 courses per semester. 

• The NSVS student must have space in their timetable to take the online course and should meet one of the following requirements:

a) The course is not offered at West Bedford High School.  

b) The WBHS course conflicts with the students current schedule. 

c) The course offered at West Bedford High School is at capacity. 

• It's important to emphasize that students are required to attend their WBHS NSVS classes in person. Participating in NSVS classes from home is not permitted. Given our students' flexible learning schedule, our school partners extremely well with the NSVS programming. 

• Courses are taught by NS certified teachers using both synchronous (when teacher and students are communicating in real-time through video conferencing or echat) and asynchronous (when students can complete activities independently) methods. 

• NSVS teachers have office hours, students can log in to touch base with them individually. They can also instant message or email their online teacher at any time. 

• Students are supervised by a WBH teacher during their scheduled class. The WBH teacher takes attendance and oversees written assessments.
