Principal's Message

Dear Parents/Guardians and Students:

We have had a busy first two terms at TLS and it's hard to believe that we are now in the homestretch of the 2022-2023 school year. We have had several school activities since January and an action packed Winter Carnival which included a free "big breakfast" for every student in our school, a hypnotist for the middle school, fun classroom activities, various theme days, and evening social and various field trips (skating, bowling, shoe shoeing, skiing). We even took a record 86 middle school students skiing at Ski Ben Eoin! Of course, none of this would not be possible without the support of our school staff, students council and community volunteers. We would like to say a very sincere "Thank You" to everyone for their help.

Student term 2 report cards will go out on Monday, March 27 and will be distributed electronically to families. Parent-Teacher conferences are on the horizon and rapidly approaching. Parent-Teacher conferences will take place on Thursday, March 30 from 4:00-6:00pm and on Friday, March 31 from 9:30-11:30am. NOTE: the first hour for each day will be dedicated to telephone appointments of 10 minutes each. The second hour of each day are for "in-person" meetings that take place within the school. Anyone wishing to schedule a phone appointment for either day can call the school to arrange times or you can simply drop by during the second hour of each day to see the teachers in the school. We continue to be dedicated to help each student continue to grow, to mature and to develop in all aspects of their lives. We promote respect for self, respect for others, respect for learning, respect for the environment and we have high expectations for our students.

Please continue to support and to talk to your child(ren) regularly about their learning. We will continue to work together as a team to help students feel safe and supported in all aspects of their learning. Our school focus is helping students reach their full academic potential, as well as giving them opportunities for acquiring social confidence and leadership.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact your child(ren)'s teacher, Michelle Stubbert (Vice-Principal) or myself.

Take care,
Troy Podetz
