For two and half days beginning the last week in July, the (Virtual) version of IT Summer Camp 2020 happened online, free for all to attend. Maybe you heard about it after the fact? Many sessions were recorded (in Google Meet), and will be available SOON on the EECD YouTube Channel, but in the meantime, check out the many slide decks that were posted for ALL for the Summer Learning Academy offerings by clicking HERE on the GNSPES Landing Page.
Back in June, many Regional Staff (including members of the Education Team, Coaches, Interventionists, Literacy Team) facilitated Professional Learning offerings over the course of the week. Just found out that our education colleagues in HRCE, who are running their Summer Learning Academy, starting Monday, August 17th, are opening their sessions to ALL NS Educators via their GNSPES credentials. Check out the offerings HERE!
Even before the COVID-19 pandemic, Google had a plethora of online training resources aimed at teachers, both new and experienced users alike. Whether you are looking for tips or more info on a specific platform/app (such as Classroom, Drive, Docs, Meet or Slides for example), or you want to go so far as to explore Google Educator Certification, start your search HERE. One really cool feature is weekly video training delivered to your InBox, on each aspect of G-Suite. You then decide the time that's best for you to explore. You can sign-up for that HERE.
For the past several summers, EECD has put on an IT Summer Camp at various locations ... most recently at MSVU and last summer at St. F.X. Of course this year's Camp, as part of the Summer Learning Academy will be online and virtual. This means that MORE teachers can take part, but don't delay, sign-up now to get all the necessary updates once presenters are finalized and keynotes are booked. Sign up HERE for 2020 sessions! Not sure there is something for you? Check out past IT Camp Slide Decks HERE.
For the time being, there continue to be options for teachers interested in learning more about tools such as Google Meet, Google Classroom, and Google Drive. There are limited seats in "live" fully-funded webinars (register early), but also previously recorded sessions. Start at their Virtual Training homepage HERE.
See the YouTube links below to view previously recorded sessions.
