At Sydney Mines Middle School it is expected that all students and staff dress with an appropriate taste for an educational setting. This applies not only to during the school day but also during extra-curricular events as well.

The following have been deemed part of our Dress Code Policy by representatives of the staff, students, parents and school advisory council at Sydney Mines Middle School:

If students come to school inappropriately dressed, they will be asked to change into (or add) appropriate clothing. If this clothing is not available at school, they will be asked to contact their parents to bring appropriate attire. If there is a question regarding whether or not the clothing is or is not appropriate, the administration will make the final decision.

If the student continues to disobey the school policy, their behaviour will be treated as “Insubordination” as stated in the student Information system and treated with the corresponding consequences.
