There are many staff at MDA who are allies! Many of us show our support by decorating our offices/classrooms with rainbow sharks, flags, or other signs of support. We are all safe people to talk to, and can help you get the support you need. Below is also a list of community resources for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth and families.

The Halifax Pride Festival is an annual 11 day gathering in the Halifax Regional Municipality for the 2SLGBTQ+ community. It features over 150 community and Pride organized events celebrating the history, culture, activism, and perseverance of the queer community. While the Halifax Pride Society organizes a number of large and small scale events, we engage actively with various queer groups and individuals throughout the year to support them in the planning of their own events and activities.
pflag Canada is a national charitable organization that was founded by parents who needed help learning how to accept and support their 2SLGBTQ+ children. We are dedicated to supporting, educating, and advocating for 2SLGBTQ+ people and those who love them.
There are pflag groups in both Halifax and Truro.
