June 2026 Summative Assessments

Summative Assessment/ Examination Week Information 

Summative Assessment/Examination Week takes place from Mondy, June 22nd, 2026 through Thursday, June 25th, 2026  

The examination schedule is posted on our website and around the school. It is your responsibility to know when and where your examinations are taking place.  

Please return all books and materials to your teacher prior to each examination. Please go to the library to drop your chromebook off. This year we will be drawing for a $150 gift card (one per grade). Your name will go into a draw for the gift card when you return your chromebook and charger. If a sibling had a chromebook at home and did not return it to RHS, you would get a second ballot for the draw.

A few helpful reminders to help the process run more smoothly: 

• If using your chromebook for your exam, please charge your chromebook before coming to school. 

• At the start of the examination, the only thing that should be on your desk is a pen, pencil, calculator and ruler (if writing mathematics or science). Jackets, purses, bookbags etc. should be placed at the front of the room. Cell phones should be turned off and stored away from your person. This also applies to Smart watches or devices that connect to the internet. According to NS Student Code of Conduct: “An individual using communication technology to gather or copy information during a test or exam, in violation of the ethical code of the school, will be subject to disciplinary action as outlined in the school’s Code of Conduct and board policies.” 

• Your teacher will provide more specific information regarding procedures/processes for these assessments.  

• Attendance will be taken at the start of each examination and the names of any students missing will be sent to the office. We just want to make sure we know where you are. 

• You can leave at 10:00 AM for morning exams, 1:00 PM for afternoon exams. Once you have finished the examination, you are asked to go to the library or cafeteria. No one should be wandering the halls as students will still be writing and we need to keep the building quiet so they can concentrate. 

• If you are getting picked up and are waiting for your drive, please wait in the cafeteria or the library until your drive comes. 

• Students should use the washroom before the exam begins.

• If students do not have their books to return to the teacher, please come to the office for a book slip.
