June Summative Assessment/Examination Schedule - See Student Tab
Summative Assessment/ Examination Week Information
Summative Assessment/Examination Week takes place from Tuesday, June 18th to Monday, June 2th, 2024 .
National Indigenous Peoples Day is on June 21, and this year June 21 falls within our CBVRCE assessment week. In an effort to ensure that no student is disadvantaged on June 21 for participating in cultural events and celebrations, our secondary level schools will not be scheduling exams on that day. We feel that this re-scheduling is a way to ensure opportunity for students to share, learn and grow together in the celebration of Indigenous Communities, Peoples and Cultures. Recognizing this day is a significant step towards reconciliation and reflects our shared history. Click here for more information about National Indigenous Peoples Day
The examination schedule can be found at the bottom of this page. It is the students' responsibility to know when and where your examination is taking place.
.Please return Chromebooks, all books and materials to your teacher prior to the examination.
A few helpful reminders to help the process run more smoothly:
At the start of the examination, the only thing that should be on your desk is pen, pencil, calculator and ruler (if writing mathematics). Jackets, purses, bookbags etc. should be placed at the front of the room. Cell phones should be turned off and stored away from your person. According to NS Student Code of Conduct: “An individual using communication technology to gather or copy information during a test or exam, in violation of the ethical code of the school, will be subject to disciplinary action as outlined in the school’s Code of Conduct and board policies.
Your teacher will provide more specific information regarding procedures/processes for these assessments.
Attendance will be taken at the start of each examination and the names sent to the office. We just want to make sure you know where you are suppose to be.
Once you have finished the examination, you are asked to go to the library or cafeteria. No one should be wandering the halls as students will still be writing and we need to keep the building quiet so they can concentrate.
If you are getting picked up and are waiting for your drive or your bus. Please wait in the cafeteria or the library until your drive comes.
Dear Families,
We have been having some major safety/traffic issues at the student drop off location by the D building in the morning and after school.
As a result, we will have security posted there a week to help inform parents/guardians of this safety issue. We need to keep the traffic flowing and not block exits/entrances of the Fire Station or the School. This is necessary to help ensure safety of students, staff and other members of our community.
We appreciate your patience and kindness as we make these changes. As always, please do not hesitate to contact the school if you have any questions or concerns.
Thank you
