The Primary Trigonometric Reviews:
In Math 10, you used the primary trigonometric ratios to determine side lengths and angle measures in right triangles.
In the figure to the right, the sides are represented by lowercase letters and the angles are represented by uppercase letters.
a) The hypotenuse is on the side across from the right angle in the triangle.
b) Opposite means the side across from the angle we are using.
c) Adjacent means the side next to the angle we are using (but not the hypotenuse).
The acronym SOH CAH TOA is used to remember the primary trigonometric ratios.
