Hello!

My name is Ashley Henry and I love being a part of the staff at Island View High School.  I have been teaching for 17 years in various classes from grades 7-12.  I was born and raised in Dartmouth, NS and have done the majority of my teaching in this area.  

I obtained my Bachelor of Science degree from Saint Mary's University with a major in Chemistry and a minor in Mathematics.  I graduated from Mount Saint Vincent University with my Bachelor of Education in the secondary field and returned a few years ago to complete my Masters in Education with a focus on Technology Integration.  I love teaching and am so excited to give back to my community each day through my work with youth.  I have a passion for promoting student leadership and work with young minds every chance I get to promote their self confidence and leadership within their school and community.

Teaching your student is a wonderful task and I am so thrilled to have this opportunity.  This is something I cannot do alone however.  I need your help as parents and guardians.  The success of your student is dependent on many factors including the partnership we form to assist them in their educational career.  Your support and their determination are crucial aspects to this success.  My commitment to you and your student is to provide them with the tools required to be successful and the skills and motivation necessary to meet their goals.   Together we will provide the best term possible for your student.
