Recommended Apps
I know many families have laptops, tablets, iPods, and other devices at home. Finding good apps in the store can be difficult simply because there are SO MANY to choose from! Here is a list of apps and websites that I’ve tried or have been recommended to me.

These sites will work on any device with a web browser:
Parent information for working on math skills with your kids.
Prodigy: A quest-based game where students need to answer math questions to win battles. We'll get student accounts in class for this site. There is a paid and free version.
Math Magician: Practice math facts.
Multiplication Grand Prix: Practice multiplication facts
Wonderopolis: Great non-fiction reading site that answers questions sent in by kids.
Tablet Apps
The following are great apps for iOS and Android tablets or phones. Most are free!

Wuzzit Trouble: Offers practice with number sense skills. iOS or Andriod
Bedtime Math: We know reading to our kids is important, but why isn’t math? Try adding Bedtime Math to your nightly routines at home! iOS or Android

Other ideas:
Have them learn what a “paper slide video” is, and make one for the topic of their choice. It could be something they learned about in school, or something else they are interested in. Save it to Google Drive and I’d love to show it in class!
No-tech at home ideas:
Please send ideas to help expand this list! These are some fun projects and experiments you can complete with your family at home:
Create a Rube Goldberg machine at home using everyday items to do complete a simple task.
Search for science experiments and complete them at home for fun.
