Millwood High School is a public secondary school in Middle Sackville, Nova Scotia that offers a post-secondary preparation program for students in grades nine through twelve. It is a part of the Halifax Regional Centre for Education, and one of 17 high schools in the Halifax Regional Municipality.

Position Description:
Provide leadership, and development for Assistant Coaches, Student Athletes and Volunteers in pursuit of educational and athletic goals.
Responsible for the conduct of coaching staff and student athletes while representing the school as part of the team in all capacities.
Responsible for the maintenance of high safety standards and equipment and determination of program equipment needs in consultation with the Athletic Director.
Technical, tactical, physical and psychological preparation of the team and athletes
Support for identified fundraising and promotional opportunities to support the program and Millwood High Athletics
Knowledge and compliance with school and SSNS, policies, rules and regulations
What We Are Looking For:
Head Coach position must be at least 21 years of age
Criminal Records and Vulnerable Sector Checks
Two (2) years’ experience and proven competence as a coach
Coaches Association of Canada "Making Headway" Concussion Management Course
NCCP - though not a requirement would be considered an asset
Exceptional interpersonal, team building and communication skills
Industry trends related to athletics (i.e. concussion protocol, accessibility in sport)
Demonstrated ability to embrace equity, diversity and inclusion and reconcile significantly diverse viewpoints.
Prior experience with supervision of youth.
First aid and CPR certifications preferred but not necessary
This position will require a time commitment involving both evenings and weekends based on the Metro High School Association league and school facilities schedules as well as any identified exhibition and league games, training, and events.
