Reminders for Students & Families:
Olympic Theme Week - Feb. 17-20
"In celebration of the Winter Olympics, Malcolm is making next week (Feb. 17-20) an Olympic Theme Week!
Tuesday (Feb.17th) will be Sports/Activity Day: Wear your favorite team or club's jacket, hat, jersey, or gear!
Wednesday (Feb.18th)- Canadian Super Fan Day: Wear red and white to show your Canadian pride!
Thursday (Feb.19th) - Cozy Winter Clothes Day: Wear comfy winter clothes, maybe Pyjamas with slippers and a toque!
Friday (Feb.20th) - Country Colours Day: Each class has been assigned a country- wear it's colours and track scores using the scoreboard posted outside the cafeteria!
Friday afternoon staff and students will gather in the gym for a curling tournament.

RESCHEDULED! PLEASE NOTE THAT SCHOOL GROUP PHOTOS SCHEDULED FOR THURSDAY, FEB. 12 ARE POSTPONED. A NEW DATE FOR GROUP PHOTOS WILL BE ANNOUNCED SOON.
School group photos (sports, clubs, etc.) will be taken during school on Thursday, Feb. 12.
As the weather has turned colder, students and families are reminded that students should be dressed and prepared for the weather each day as students are expected to be outside in the morning, at lunch and after school (unless they are inside due to inclement weather). As our weather can be unpredictable, students can store any additional items they need in their assigned locker in case they require it.

SchoolsPlus is happy to that registration for our Parenting in the Online World webinars is open.
Parents can sign up for one of four dates between November and April to learn more about online risks and trends concerning children and youth. Any parents interested in participating in these webinars ca register online at ProtectKidsOnline.ca.
BUS PLANNER
Families alread have received information about shifting any bussing notifications (cancellations or delays) to Bus Planner Delays which will begin on October 20th. This will ensure families are only receiving notifications for the bus routes that apply to their child(ren). Please see

The BusPlanner Web platform allows families to access their child(ren)’s bus information online, including route number, pickup/drop-off times and locations.
Families who sign up for this service will receive email and push notifications that are specific to their child(ren)’s bus route(s).

You can update your account with your cell number to receive SMS messages in the future
Bus Planner Delays App
The Bus Planner Delays app sends families push notifications that are specific to their child(ren)’s bus route(s).

Students are reminded to bring a refillable water bottle to school as we have several bottle filling stations located throughout the school for students and staff especially with the warmer weather.
Families can visit https://cbvrce.mybusplanner.ca/TransportationEligibility to determine if students are eligible for bussing. If students are eligible for bussing, students and families should familiarize themselves with the route number(s) as well as pick-up and drop off times.
