We are happy to welcome back our returning students as well as our new Grade 6's to our Malcolm community. We look forward to a great year.
School Yearbooks:
Yearbooks were distributed to students by their homeroom teachers in June. If your child(ren) did not receive their yearbook yet, they should first check with their homeroom teacher about it.
If their name is not on the homeroom list, students should follow-up in the office about it.
Lost and Found
Students and families are reminded that students are only permitted to drink water throughout the instructional day in their classes. No other drinks (e.g. sports drinks, juices, energy drinks, coffee/tea shop drinks, etc.) are permitted in classrooms.
Students are encouraged to bring a refillable water bottle to school as we have several bottle filling stations located throughout the school for students and staff.
As the weather can be unpredictable, students and families are reminded that students should be dressed and prepared for the weather each day as students are expected to be outside in the morning, at lunch and after school (unless they are inside due to inclement weather). Students can store any additional items they need in their assigned locker in case they require it.
Please encourage your child(ren) to check the school lost and found in the main foyer cabinet should they misplace any items throughout the year (e.g. sweatshirts, jackets, water bottles, etc.).
Bus Planner Delays App
Just a friendly reminder that bussing notifications are shared via the Bus Planner Delays App, and are no longer sent to entire school communities via text/SMS. For anyone who does not subscribe to Bus Planner Delays App, notifications are also posted on the CBVRCE website here. (From the CBVRCE homepage, click on “Bus Alerts” at the top right).
Nova Scotia International Student Program
The Nova Scotia International Student Program is looking for families in the CBVRCE to host international students. Students range from 13-18 years old and can stay anywhere from one month to one year. Families receive a $925 monthly stipend for expenses.
