Students will demonstrate persistent behaviour and effort towards mastery during different types of physical activity.
I can set goals and choose physical activities that improve my health and fitness.
I can create movement patterns that demonstrate balance, weight transfer, jump/landing with different apparatus.

Have you ever played the memory game SIMON? This game is designed around that concept.
Start by having one person standing in the center of the "game board".
Next person Begins by saying a color ("red").
The Person in the Center will jump to that color and then back to the center.
Person 2 will then say first color and add another ("red, yellow").
Center person will jump to the first color (red), next color (yellow) and then back to the center.
Keep adding one color until you have 6-8 in the sequence.
The round "ends" when the center person completes the entire sequence, can no longer remember the pattern, or misses a color block. Then it's your turn to jump as your child dictates the sequence 🙂
YOU CAN ADD DIFFERENT TYPES OF JUMPS TO THE SEQUENCE TO MAKE IT MORE CHALLENGING.

How to Jump

Snake
Have one person hold it at each end and wave it gently along the ground like a slithering snake, while other players attempt to jump over it. Take turns being the jumper and the snake-mover.
Banana SpliT
This jump rope game doesn't actually involve jumping--but players do have to pay attention to the timing of the swinging rope. You need a long rope and two people to turn it. The remaining players form a single-file line so that the first person in line is facing the rope. The turners swing the rope forward toward the line, then away.As they do so, the first player must run under the rope and back without touching the rope or letting it touch him. After one pass, the second person in line joins in and both players run under the rope. Then three runners go together, and so on. If anyone touches the rope or doesn't make it back and forth in time, start again with one player running.
One player stands in the middle while the rest stay in their spots around the edges of circle drawn on ground or back from the turner. This central player holds the rope up high and swings it in a circle while saying: "Helicopter, helicopter over my head, I choose a color and the color is ... "Once they name a color, and they begin rotating the rope along the ground. When the other players hear the color name, anyone who is wearing that color steps forward and tries to jump over the rope. If anyone steps on the rope, the central player starts over.
Or you can have all players step in and see how many rotations the center player can get.
