What is Cooperative Education (Co-op)?
Cooperative Education provides students with the opportunity to make connections between school and work to explore a career of interest before finalizing plans for post-secondary education, training, or employment.
Students will develop the essential skills and work habits required in the workplace and acquire an understanding of workplace expectations.
This Cooperative experience with the business community is valued as a medium for students to build the personal growth and social skills necessary in today's workplace as determined by the Conference Board of Canada.
How many courses do I have to take each semester?
Your course load depends entirely on your work/life situation. Some students take four (4) courses per semester, while others take one (1). We will collaborate with you during your intake interview, and throughout the semester, to ensure your best chance for success based on your individual needs.
What materials do I need to bring to be successful?
Kings County Adult High School provides students with Chromebooks to use the Google Suite for Education.
Consumable materials - pens, pencils, lined paper, duotangs, binders - are also available at no cost.
