We understand that being a newcomer to Canada can pose certain challenges. It can be difficult to know what services are available in your community.
We can connect newcomers with essential school and community resources (Housing, Healthcare, Language classes etc).
We work to create positive relationships with newcomer families and welcome them into our school community.
We offer support to newcomer students/families to help everyone adjust to life in Canada.
Referrals for support can be made by contacting your child’s school.

Accessing Supports within the school and community.
Navigating concerns about a child's academic, emotional and/or social well being.

The YMCA, in partnership with schools in our community, support our newcomer families.
The School Settlement Worker can:
Help connect families to resources within the school and community.
Help with school registrations.
Assist with communication between home and school.
Offer academic support through homework clubs and peer tutoring.
