In order to go to school within the province of Nova Scotia, students need health insurance.


If you are a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident or have a valid Work Permit, you can apply for a medical card (Called MSI card in Nova Scotia).  Click here for some information.

If this does not apply to you (Two Options)

If this does not apply to you you can apply for an MSI Card after you are here for 13 months.  However, you will need to obtain coverage for your child before starting school. You can add your children to a current policy at Cape Breton University
