DISNEY HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL PRogram
Halifax Regional Arts is supported by supplementary funding and is designed to support and enhance the Fine Arts across the HRCE. The HRA is led by Melanie Ross-Breen, Nathan Beeler, Pam Paddock, Aren Morris and David Zinck. The HRA has orchestras, small ensembles, drama clubs, theatrical productions, visual arts programming, pottery and glass labs, and in school fine arts specialist support across the HRCE, all for free!
Directors Note
I’m so pleased to welcome so many supportive faces in the audience tonight. This show is incredibly special! For some of our students, it will be the last time they set foot on a stage... for others, it is their first opportunity to feel the magical butterflies and creative energy that a theatre family can share with one another.
These students are all near and dear to my heart. The professionalism and commitment they have exhibited to the process is truly profound, and really speaks to the passion and pride they have for their work and the respect they have for one another. I’m a very lucky Director! I will sincerely miss spending time with this particular group of young adults. They are truly inspiring.
“Trust the process”... it’s my catch phrase. The process is always the most important part. It is where we learn to trust in one another to solve problems and work as a team. This process has been particularly rewarding. Over the last few years we have all had to navigate our fair share of hurdles, but we have also experienced some exciting firsts that deserve to be celebrated.
So that is what this evening is all about. To the kids. I love you and I’m so very proud of you. Support each other and really enjoy these moments. You may not realize it right now, but trust me, someday when you think back on High School, this night will be one of those memories that cuts through the fog.
A huge thanks to all of you for coming out tonight to share in our successes. As soon as the lights dim, we’re all in this together! Now sit back, relax and enjoy the magic of the theatre.
