All of the following examples are considered plagiarism:
turning in someone else’s work as your own
copying words or ideas from someone else without giving credit
failing to put a quotation in quotation marks
giving incorrect information about the source of a quotation
changing words but copying the sentence structure of a source without giving credit
knowingly providing someone else with your work for them to copy and turn in as their own
Students caught cheating must redo the assignment to be marked out of 70%; this will be completed outside of class time. The student will have up to three days to complete the new assignment. The student may receive an in-school or out-of-school suspension (up to 5 days). The student must complete the work in the time specified by the teacher. If the assignment is not completed in this time frame, they will receive a zero.
Assignments may include (but are not limited to) projects, assignments, lab reports, research papers, and essays.
Cheating on quizzes, tests, and exams is a violation of student expectations and will be dealt with by the teacher in consultation with administration.
