Healthy Coping Strategies

  • Talk with people you trust.

  • Maintain basic self care: get healthy amounts of rest, eat regular meals, incorporate exercise and movement in your day.

  • Try to have a comfortable daily routine (i.e. meal times, bed time, etc.)

  • Stay connected to your support system (e.g. family, partners, friends, pets, community) whether this is in person, or virtually.

  • Pursue your passions and engage in your normal hobbies (don't feel guilty about finding pleasure in your life).

  • Practice stress management techniques (e.g. meditation, mindfulness, progressive muscle relaxation, etc.).

  • Embrace your spirituality or other belief systems.

  • Avoid using alcohol or drugs.
