SchoolsPlus is a collaborative interagency approach supporting the whole child and their family with the school as the center of service delivery. They act as liaisons between the school and community by advocating, coordinating, and expanding services for students and families. Most often this looks like working alongside students and families who are experiencing complex challenges, navigating several systems, and/or requiring extra support to make the connections they need.

However, SchoolsPlus also offers programs and opportunities that can be accessed by any student and family! At EMS, this includes drop-in support/supportive conversation or connection in the SchoolPlus room as needed over break times when SP staff are in and available (most often on Mondays!), occasional social or skill building small groups, and support of community food programming like “Valley After the Bell.” The Horton Family SchoolsPlus team also operates a Facebook group ("SchoolsPlus East Kings (Horton Family of Schools)") where they share information about upcoming community events, connections, and supports; anyone is welcome to join this group, regardless of whether they are connected to SchoolsPlus or not.
