Lunenburg County WHEELS - Pre-booked, door-to-door transportation is available to residents in all communities of Lunenburg County, including Bridgewater, Lunenburg and Mahone Bay.
To book a ride between any two places in our service area call (902) 523-4455 weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Fares:
$2.50 one-way ($5 round trip) within towns and nearby communities
$5 one-way ($10 round trip) for rides 6 km to 10 km
no more than $7.50 ($15 round trip) between any two points in western Lunenburg County.
CANConnect Diversity Micro-grants for Immigrant Youth and Refugee Youth
The GLOCAL Foundation of Canada aims to equip immigrant and refugee youth,who are new to Canada or born to first generation immigrants and refugees, with civic knowledge, digital skills, and experience in civic engagement and democratic participation in Canada. These grants are provided to design and produce research, short videos, or digital projects/games that promote civic engagement in Canada. 100 grants will be provided to support 100 individual or group projects: three $5,000, thirty $3,000, thirty $1,500, and thirty $500.

Expanded YMCA Program, provides information, orientation and settlement support to Immigrants and Temporary Foreign Workers and their families who are new to communities across the province of Nova Scotia.
Atlantic Canada Language Academy - Lunenburg, NS
Learn English online or in person, weekly cooking club, tutoring (P-12), and youth summer language camps (ages 16-19).
To sign up for classes register with ISANS, and apply for a CLB assessment with LENS.

Legal Support (from ISANS)
Pro Bono services for immigration related matters
Eligibility: Government-assisted refugees and Private sponsorship clients (MUST be registered as an ISANS client)
Referral Process: Internal referral by staff at ISANS (Child care and interpretation available)
Services: offered between October and March, by Dalhousie legal students
Scope of Service Delivery: Information on Citizenship, Application for Travel documents, Replacement and Renewal of Permanent Resident Cards, NO DIRECT IMMIGRATION SUPPORT
Legal support for Client Business Needs available to Business Clients of ISANS. Clients are referred internally by a Business Counsellor to McInnes Cooper for pro bono legal business support.
