Assessment

During each term, students will be assessed on their knowledge and understanding of the curriculum outcomes through both formative and summative assessments. Formative assessments allow for feedback to be given to help students improve their understanding or practice a topic more. There will be multiple opportunities for assessment on outcomes. Assessments may take the form of daily reflection journals or daily activity logs, conferencing one-on-one or in a group, observation, presentations, group projects, and individual projects.

Each day you will be asked to reflect on a question(s) that I have provided. Your journal will also be home to your daily activity log where you record what you did each day and home to your goals/personal fitness plan. It is very important to turn in your journal each day so I can respond to your reflection and see what you accomplished that day.

The course will include a lot of student participation. Please try to remember that everybody will not be at the same level, but the best way to grow and develop is to step out of your comfort zone and try your best! There will be self evaluations throughout the course evaluating your level of participation.

The exam will consist of two parts, one part will be a physical component and the other a theory component. It will be a process exam which will take place in class at the end of the course.

Attendance

It is very important to attend class on a regular basis so you do not fall behind. As it is mainly a participation and hands on class, it may be difficult to catch up if time is missed. Please try your best to be here every day!
