AEM: Accessible Education Materials

What is AEM?

Accessible educational materials, or AEM, are materials and technologies usable for learning across the widest range of individual variability, regardless of format or features. Whether a material or technology is designed from the start to be accessible for all learners or is made accessible for learners with disabilities, it is considered AEM. (CAST AEM Source)

1) Launch VD Scanner, center your hard copy document and take the picture (red dot). If you choose the image at this point you can instantly have it read aloud but to convert to accessible pdf follow these steps:

2) Choose Save, Save as PDF, Give the document a title, Choose OK

3) Choose the App you want to open the document in or send it to - i.e. Voice Dream Scanner on your device OR google drive, classroom etc.

4) Open the document in the destination App you chose and use the tools within that App or location to read aloud, annotate on the document, look up words, access a picture dictionary etc.
