Please note that families can register their child for school (Pre-Primary to Grade 5) at any time.
Registration can be completed through the online portal
OR complete the ACES registration form and email it to aces@ssrce.ca.
You must provide proof of residence (e.g. power or water bill), Nova Scotia Health Card and your child’s birth certificate. Please either upload these documents through the online form OR include as an attachment with the email to the school. If either of these options do not work for you, please bring a copy to SSRCE regional office at your earliest convenience or to your home school on the first day of the next school year.
Pre-Primary is available to all SSRCE school communities.
In order to be eligible to attend Pre-Primary your child must be 4-years-old on or before December 31 in the year they start Pre-Primary.
Your family must live within the catchment area of the school that offers this program. You can check out the SSRCE’s catchment area map.
Pre-Primary does not have a waiting list. All families who live in the school catchment area will have a space in that school’s Pre-Primary program.
For more information regarding the Pre-Primary Program, visit the SSRCE website.
In order to register your child for Grade Primary, they must be 5-years-old on or before December 31 in the year they start Grade Primary.
NOTE: Current ACES Pre-Primary students who will move up to Grade Primary do not have to register again. Your child will automatically move up to Primary for September. However, can you please confirm with Cindy MacLean, Lead Facilitator that your child is still planning on attending ACES.
Students will register for English programs at the school in their catchment area. Students who live in the catchment area for Early French Immersion will register at the French Immersion designated school in their catchment area.
Each school will publicize its dates for primary orientation.
