There are a lot of wonderful resources including interactive games, pictures, graphs, and practice worksheets available to students.
Pacing calendar :
1st nine weeks- Chapters Historian’s Tk., 1, 2 3rd nine weeks-Chapters 3-5
2nd nine weeks-Chapters 6-8 4th nine weeks-Chapters 9-11
Grading:
- There will be approximately 15+ grades per quarter.
- Grades will include tests, quizzes, section worksheets,
and projects.
- Grades are weighted as follows:
Classwork - 25%
Formative Quiz/Labs - 30%
Summative Tests/Proj.- 40%
Homework - 5%
*Students will be given a rubric and deadlines for all projects.
Study Guides
Students will complete study notes for each chapter and section. Vocabulary is also a major component of understanding the curriculum and will be a focus throughout the year. We review study guides in class to assure that students have the correct information to study. Students need to use the optional study guide and practice tests given to prepare for tests.
Homework
It is given as necessary to reinforce classroom learning. The homework grade is 1 of at least 9 grades (minimum) in a 9 week grading period. Homework is posted on the board and on Schoology by Sunday afternoon prior to the start of each week. If homework is not turned in, students will receive miss a Friday recess to complete the outstanding work.
