Interested in the Houston Middle School Dance Program? We have one of the top middle school dance team programs in the WORLD. Our dance team performs at HMS pep rallys, HMS basketball games, and other community events. These athletes compete on a regional, state, national, and international level! During the 2021-2022 season, HMS Dance Team placed 1st in hip hop at the Mid-South Regionals, 1st in hip hop at the TSAA State Dance Championhip and 2nd in both game day and hip hop at the UDA National Championship in Orlando, FL.

During the 2020-2021 season, HMS Dance placed first in hip hop at the Mid-South Regional Champhionship and the first in hip hop a the UDA Nationa Champhioship. HMS Dance placed first in hip hop during the 2019-2020 season at the UDA National Champhionship in Orlando, FL. 2018-2019 season, HMS Dance Team placed first in hiphop at the Mid-South Dance Championship, first in hiphop at the TSSAA State Dance Championship, and first in hiphop at the World School Performance Cheerleading Championship in Orlando, FL. The HMS Dance Team is a sisterhood of talented, hardworking athletes that love their sport and school community!

Our athletes and their parents (the Houston Middle Pom Boosters & Board Members) are involved in MANY aspects of Houston Middle School and the local Germantown community. From being present at school functions, school dances, the HMS dodge ball tournament, HMS basketball games, the Germantown holiday parade, St. Jude races, and much, much more!

The HMS Dance Team competes at the highest level for their division and, therefore, all practices are mandatory and require a time commitment of three to four days per week (minimum). Usually, practices are about 2-3 hours long. The closer we get to competitions, the more practices we will have. Practicing 5-6 days per week once competition season arrives is to be expected annually. The girls are extremely busy, but have LOTS of fun being a part of the dance team at Houston Middle School.
