Mrs. Jennifer Mock | Library Media Specialist

Welcome! I'm Mrs. Mock, and I have the privilege of serving as the Library Media Specialist at Forest Hill Elementary.

I believe our library should be much more than a place where students come to check out books. It should be a place where every Fox feels welcome to read, explore, discover, create, and belong.

As your Library Guide, one of my favorite parts of my job is helping students discover their place in the library—whether that's finding the book they can't put down, researching something they're curious about, joining Battle of the Books, becoming a Fifth Grade Library Apprentice, or simply discovering that the library is a place where they feel at home.

Every Fox has a story. I can't wait to help them discover where it leads. 🧡💙

A Little About Mrs. Mock

I'm a Memphis-area native and proud University of Memphis alum—Go Tigers! I hold a Bachelor's Degree in English Literature and a Master's Degree in Instruction and Curriculum Leadership. I'm a licensed educator with a K–12 School Library Information Specialist endorsement.

I'm married to my best friend, and we're proud parents to a grown son who loves to read just like his mom.

When I'm not in the library, I'm usually reading, spending time with my family, or finding another project that somehow involves books. 😉

My Library Story

Here's how I became your Library Guide...

My library story began at Farmington Elementary in 2013, where I was given the opportunity to help revitalize the school library. During my six years there, I worked to make the library a place students were excited to visit and introduced programs such as Battle of the Books, Fifth Grade Library Crew, and the Student Book Buyers Club.

Then, in 2019, came the opportunity of a lifetime: building a brand-new school library from the ground up for Forest Hill Elementary. From developing the collection to helping create the space itself, I had the incredible opportunity to imagine what our library could become before the first Fox ever walked through its doors.

I've been a proud Fox ever since—and we're still building that library story together.

Why “Library Guide”?

Because I don't want to simply tell students where things are—I want to help them discover where books, ideas, questions, and curiosity can take them.

As Forest Hill's Founding Library Guide, I have the special privilege of helping create the traditions, experiences, and sense of belonging that define our library today—and that I hope generations of Foxes will carry with them long after they leave Forest Hill.
