Library Policies

Forest Hill Elementary Library Procedures

1. Library classes will meet every other week on an A/B schedule.

2. Students will have a library card that should be brought to library at each library class and at open circulation.

3. Books are checked out for a two-week period.

4. Books are to be returned by your next library class, or your books are considered overdue.

5. No fines are charged for overdue books.

However, you may not check out if you have overdue books.

6. A certain amount of wear and tear on library books is to be expected. Minor tears can be repaired with tape by the library staff. However, students will be charged a reasonable amount for any damage done to a library book while it is checked out to them (so don't loan your books). This includes writing or coloring in books, bar codes torn off books, pages ripped out, etc.

7. Lost or severely damaged books must be paid for with a check made out to Forest Hill Elementary or cash in the exact amount. No money is kept in the library, so we cannot make change.

*If you find a book you lost and paid for during the current school year, you may return the book for a refund.

8. Per GMSD policy, students' report cards can be held and access denied to records online when there is an unsettled debt to the school library.
