As its commerce and traffic developed, Nankan’s population grew 166% during the 1990s. Its student population grew along, and Nan Kan Elementary School was ahead if the pack. In this context, local residents established Jin Xing Elementary School to absorb part of these new students. Yet, as the new school’s classrooms were soon filled to capacity, and in 1997 Jin Xing set up its Guang Ming Branch School, which became an independent school in 1999.

Thriving Guang-Ming
Uutil 2017, from our initial 26 classes with 944 students we have grown to 72 regular classes and two special education classes with a total of 2133 students, 133 teachers and staff, making us the largest school in Luzhu District. Looking ahead, Guang Ming Elementary School will continue to educate the coming generations with its vision of Good Health, Good Behavior and Good Practice.
