Magnet Application Updates for the 2021-2022 School Year

We are heading into the application season for the district magnet programs. While we cannot have our traditional Open House due to COVID-19, we have made a YouTube video available for you to learn about the Lyceum program at LMS.

You will get to hear from our teachers, students, and community members as well as have an opportunity to voice any questions you may have. Also due to COVID-19, we will not have shadowing opportunities this year.

In order to apply for the Lyceum, you may fill out an application that will be made available at the district website.

The following is the timeline for magnet applications:

3/8/2021 at 12PM - Application window opens

4/5/2021 at 4PM - Application window closes (any applications received after this time will not be considered unless space is available following all on-time applications)

Date TBD - Initial Parent Notification of Placement (Offered, Waitlisted, Ineligible)

Two weeks following initial notification - Parent Deadline to accept any Offered Seats

Following the initial acceptance deadline, additional seats will be offered as seats become available. These will be through all on-time applications first. If additional seats are available and all on-time applications have been exhausted, late applications will be processed.

If you have any questions about the application process, please email alachuamagnets@gm.sbac.edu. If you have questions that are specific to the Lyceum, please email Mr. Bell at bellre@gm.sbac.edu.

Last year, our administration created a short video to answer some common questions about the Lyceum. While this was filmed over a year ago, the information is still very relevant. Please be sure to attend all Open House events before finalizing your application as it can be cumbersome to change your magnet rankings after the fact.
