PL Topic: Making Reading Instruction Explicit (MRIE) For Students with Persistent Reading Difficulties - Overview, Vocabulary, Comprehension, and Fluency
Description: Create explicit reading instruction that helps students with persistent reading difficulties make reading gains. Participants examine Just Read Florida Practice Profiles to design explicit instruction lessons that include evidence-based strategies to support students with on-going difficulties with foundational reading skills.

Audience: Teachers, Administrators, and Paraprofessionals
There are three optional follow-up courses to this main course—Fluency, Vocabulary, and Comprehension—each offered virtually for two hours.
Please note that attendance at MRIE is required in order to be eligible for the follow-up courses. While participation in the follow-up courses is encouraged, it is not mandatory.
