Course Syllabus & Information

I will be challenging you to work hard. Your effort, planning, participation, and production of quality work will all have a direct impact on your success in this class.

Report card grades are based on the following:

Class work / Homework 30%

Quizzes / Tests 30%

Writing 40%

Grading Scale:

A= 90 – 100 B= 80 – 89 C= 70 – 79 D= 60 – 69 F= 0 – 59

Full credit assignments:

1. Have a complete and proper heading.
2. Begin on front side of paper.
3. Answer in complete sentences.
4. Use correct capitalization and end punctuation.
5. Have legible handwriting.

Responsible Students:

1. Attend class daily.
2. Arrive on time and prepared.
3. Produce excellent quality work.
4. Make up missed work promptly.
5. Keep notebook up-to-date.

Note: I allow one written note from a parent (for the school year) for missing homework. Otherwise, I do not accept late homework unless there has been an absence from school. It is the student’s responsibility to get, complete, and turn in make-up work.

• 100 page, 8 X 11 size, College ruled spiral notebook (Mead Five Star-preferred)
• Set of highlighters (pink, yellow, orange, green, blue, purple)
• 2 Pocket Folders with prongs
• Loose leaf notebook paper, college ruled
• #2 pencils
• Glue sticks
• Dark blue, black pens
• 2 red pens
• Hand held pencil sharpener
• Colored pencils
