Week 2

8/20: Summer HW due, Finish poem presentations, poem reflection assignment

8/21: Begin Where I'm From Poem in class, finish RD for HW, FD due Thursday 8/23

8/22: Workshop RD, create Name Brick to attach to poem FD, Begin FD and finish it for HW

8/23: Share poems in small groups and turn them in, Poem comparison lesson with Imagery and the poems "Harlem" and "Juicy"

8/24: Literary Terms Matching Quiz 1, Poem comparison day 2 on Meaning with the poems "Do Not Go Gentle into that Good Night" and "Me Against the World"

Week 3

8/27: Listen to Podcast on expectations, complete handout, write Found Poem (finish for HW if needed)

8/28: Begin House on Mango Street (HoMS) unit, Essential questions, Pre-Reading #1, Read pp.3-11, Elements of Writing handout (for next quiz), Hairs Modeling assignment
