About the Spirit Spot

The Spirit Spot, the award-winning retail business that sells various items of clothing, books and school supplies. Opened in the Entrepreneurship suite during the 2000-2001 school year, students in the Marketing Directed Study class manage and staff the store during the schools lunch. Other Academy students have the ability to apply for a coveted role working the morning shift of the store for community service hours. Through these operations, students learn to order inventory, price and maintain inventory, keep financial records, market products, provide customer service and practice merchandising skills. All products in the store are completely designed and sourced by our own students! The Spirit Spot is one of the most successful School Based Enterprises in the country, and routinely receives the Gold Level SBE Certification from DECA Inc.
