I learned how to use a base coat of paint instead of applying it directly to the canvas. I wanted to bring some lyrics from a song into visualization.

I learned that black paint marker appears a lot darker on blue when looking from far away than it does closer up. As for what I'm trying to communicate, I'm trying to bring song lyrics I like a lot and give them a little bit of imagery on canvas.

I learned to improvise ideas when I need to fill in empty space. As for what I'm trying to communicate, I wanted to go back to my roots of these little journal entry paintings and go back to quotes for a bit.

I learned how to draw a crystal lens at an angle (not amazingly but good enough for it to pass for me). As for what I'm trying to communicate, I’m trying to spread awareness of songs and quotes I like and also be able to convey them through simple imagery.

I learned how hard it can be to work with gradients of gray, especially when you can’t see the difference till it dries. As for what I'm trying to communicate, I didn't really have anything for this painting, I just wanted to get rid of an older painting I no longer liked.
