The Secondary Student Council is yet again excited to take on the upcoming school year. We are excited to welcome returning and new students to our school community! Despite the unfortunate circumstance that we will start another year online, the Student Council have prepared exciting events to maintain our school spirit!

But before getting into our program, allow us to introduce ourselves. Currently, we have the Executive Team. The Executive Committee is entrusted to become the backbone of the Student Council. We work hand in hand to direct all activities of the Student Council. This team has been chosen and experienced organising in their roles since last year. We’re fortunate to have our Executive Team with the members:

As the Secondary Student Council, our vision is to ​​be a bridge between the student body and school executives. Our priority is ensuring that the voices of the students are heard. We are the first step to bringing change and student-generated ideas into reality. We visualise Global Jaya as not only a place of learning and a location for deriving knowledge; but a community where students, teachers, school executives can reach a compromise for a more enjoyable experience in the Global Jaya community.

We aim to project the individual skillsets of all Global Jaya students by providing more opportunities where students can showcase their area of expertise. While doing so, we also aim to strengthen the identity by promoting school pride throughout the Global Jaya community. We aim to lead a community where we can drive forward towards a brighter future together. In relation to school pride, we intend to assist and encourage Global Jaya’s identity expression.

In preparation for the new school year, the Student Council has assembled many things during the summer. For this month, it’s all about starting fresh and meeting new teams!

We’ve opened recruitments for students in Year 11 in preparation to be the next Executive Team members. In order to recognise the trustable and open-minded role models, the Student Council have its sophisticated process by including interviews and case studies.

The Student Council will also participate in the school’s annual Induction Day. We’ve prepared small, exciting games to welcome the new students to our community. We’re thrilled to be meeting the new faces of our school!

Nevertheless, the Student Council is thrilled about the upcoming school year. Our first day of school will start just in a number of days so get yourself ready for some fun Student Council events!
