Dearest Students, Parents, and the Global Jaya Community,
Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year. We hope this message finds you safe, healthy, and happy. We hope the holiday has allowed you to have quality time with your family. Due to the current Covid-19 conditions and government regulations, we will start the new school year in Home-Based Learning (HBL). While this is not the way we had anticipated (as many had hoped to return to campus), we believe that this year will still be a productive and busy year filled with meaningful learning engagements, activities, and events.
Our teachers have been working hard to prepare an engaging and exciting Home-Based Learning (HBL) environment over the break. We are all committed to working together to collaborate, reflect and grow, and will use last year's HBL experience as a base of our reflection to better support our students and parents in our next HBL journey.
Please take a moment to review the year-level HBL pages and links. You will find the important and more detailed, beginning of the year information for each year level, as well as some welcome messages from our amazing teachers. However, please note that the current iteration of the HBL pages for the 2021-2022 school year continues to be revised and updated in anticipation of our August 2, 2021 first day of classes. Our Faculty and Leadership will be working to update these pages prior to Friday, July 30, 2021.
We are looking forward to starting the new school year; welcoming our new and returning families! Please stay safe and healthy.
Warm Regards
Ibu Dewi and Ibu Elena

Once again, thank you for your time, commitment, and dedication. We are looking forward to working collaboratively with you all in supporting our students' learning.
During the first few weeks of this school year, your child will complete an online, iReady diagnostic evaluation for Reading and Mathematics.
These assessments are not used for report grades, but instead to help teachers better identify areas of strengths and weaknesses of their students. This data allows them to tailor instruction, materials, activities and groupings to provide each student with opportunities to improve, develop or extend their knowledge. The iReady is one of many tools used to understand each student’s performance abilities and does not on its own determine placement or progress. The information gathered from these diagnostic tests will be tracked throughout the year with repeat testing at the end of semesters 1 and 2. This will enable us to view every student's growth and development, whilst taking any action to assist those who may be struggling. These diagnostic tests are used globally by many international and host nation schools and will be able to give teachers an understanding of where your child stands in regards to the ability for their age level.
Individual teachers will be in contact in regards to how the diagnostic is taken but I do ask that you support us in ensuring that your child attempts and conducts themselves in their best possible manner. The more accurate the result, the better we can plan personalised learning for your child. If you have further questions or would like more information, please discuss with your child’s Maths and/or English teachers or programme coordinators. Alternatively, if they are not able to assist you please do not hesitate to email me @ jamesm@globaljaya.com
