DO I HAVE THE RIGHT QUALIFICATIONS ?
All trainees must have sufficient educational qualifications to gain entry to higher education. i.e. A Levels, High School Certificates or equivalent.
DO I HAVE THE RIGHT LEVEL OF ENGLISH? DO I NEED TO BE A NATIVE SPEAKER?
English does not have to be your first language, but you must be able to demonstrate a high level of English language skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing, whether it is a first, second or additional language for you.
DO I HAVE TO BE AN EXPERT IN GRAMMAR?
In a word NO! However, at interview you will need to demonstrate a basic knowledge of some grammar terminology. To be an effective language teacher you do need to develop an explicit knowledge of grammar and during the course you will be given lessons on developing language awareness and grammar. You will also be expected to develop your own knowledge before commencing the course.

HOW DO I BEGIN MY JOURNEY?
CLICK HERE AND COMPLETE THE FORM
Complete the online application form which includes a pre-interview language awareness task. You will probably need to do some research in order to complete the application so give yourself plenty of time. A paper-based version of the task is available on request. After submitting the application you will need to pass an interview which includes a discussion of the language awareness task and a written task. There is a reading list and some website links in the menu bar which may help you with the task.
