Glenwood School uses a variety of Google platforms in instruction. The entire group of tools is sometimes called Google Workspace.
In a remote learning environment, these Google tools are especially helpful because students can access them from any device using the *Internet. Even without Internet access, student Chromebooks can be used for instruction by taking advantage of some of the offline tools described on this page. While all of these resources are available on an Internet browser, there are also mobile apps available for smart phones. If you have questions about these or other resources being utilized during remote learning, please contact your child's teacher. Also, be sure to check this page often for updates!

Gmail - This is the email platform used by employees as well as students. All employees and students have been assigned a user account that ends in @glenwoodgators.com; students may send and receive emails only from other Glenwood email accounts.
Google Classroom - This is an online area created by teachers to distribute instructional content to students. Depending on the grade level of your child, s/he may have multiple Google Classrooms. Students may view announcements, interact with peers, and submit assignments through their teachers' Google Classrooms.
Google Docs - Google Docs is an online word processor that lets you create and format documents and work with other people. If you're familiar with Microsoft Word, this platform will remind you of that program.
Google Drive - Google Drive is online file storage system. It's where Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc. are stored...sometimes referred to as "cloud" storage.
Google Meet - Google Meet is a video conferencing platform. This is the resource is used by teachers to connect with students in a live session.
Google Sheets - A Google Sheet is a web-based spreadsheet that you can use anywhere. Have you used Excel? This is the Google version of that software.
Google Slides - Slides is to PowerPoint as Docs is to Microsoft Word and Sheets is to Microsoft Excel. Students may create slide decks online for presentations and in collaboration with peers.
Jamboard - Jamboard is an online whiteboard platform. Using Jamboard's drawing tools, students can demonstrate math concepts or create word webs. Like other Google tools, Jamboard can be used collaboratively with peers and teachers.

Edit, create, and view your documents, spreadsheets, and presentations — all without internet access. No network connection? No problem! With Google Docs Offline, you can access Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Drive without connecting to the internet. Once installed, simply enable offline access via the settings menu in Google Drive.
