In Phonological Awareness sessions, we are learning to:

• Phoneme identify the letter name and letter sound

• Segment and blend words (digraphs and trigraphs)

• Manipulate sounds in words

• Recognise and correctly sound out initial and final blend words e.g gl, fl, spl, bl

• Identify and correctly sound out Shot vowels and Long vowels

In reading sessions, we are learning to:

• Decode words using the skills that we have learnt in phonological awareness

• Remember, recognise, and read non-decodable words (High Frequency Words/Sight Words)

• Read with fluency and expression
