Panasonic Eco-Citizenship Competition

Congratulations to two of our amazing GRMS G&T groups who placed in the top 15 out of hundreds of submissions in the NJ Panasonic Student Eco Citizenship Program!

“From Trends to Trash” addressed the impact of fast fashion and clothing waste. The students raised awareness through posters and announcements and collected 183 items for the Purple Heart Foundation in just two weeks.

“Halt with the Salt” focused on the environmental dangers of road salt and promoted alfalfa meal as a safer alternative. The group created a petition, collected over 50 signatures, and shared their message with state leaders. They also hope to launch an eco-citizenship club to continue their work.

Law Adventure, NJ Bar Association

2025-26 Congratulations to Glen Rock's 7th Grade Students for earning honorable mention in the Law Adventure Competition! They are in the top 10 and will have a chance to present their case to a mock trial jury in May!

2024-25 Congratulations to Glen Rock's 8th grade students for making the Top 10 in the Law Adventure competition! They presented their original case in a mock trial, with students from other districts serving as the jury.

BCCTG Poetry Competition

Glen Rock Students Shine in Countywide Poetry Competition

Students in grades 3–8 recently competed in the BCCTG (Bergen County Consortium of Teachers of the Gifted) Poetry Competition. Glen Rock had the most winners and honorable mentions across all divisions.

WordMasters Challenge

Our 5th grade team scored an impressive 186 points out of a possible 200 points on the second challenge of the year, placing us ninth in the nation.

Way to go team!!!!

A team from Glen Rock Elementary School recently earned Highest Honors in the 2025–2026 WordMasters Challenge™, a national vocabulary competition involving nearly 125,000 students. The fifth-grade team placed 9th in the nation, scoring a total of 186 points out of a possible 200 in the second of three meets this year.

Competing in the difficult Blue Division of the WOrd Masters Challenge, 1 Glen Rock Fourth Grader, 3 fifth graders, and 2 sixth graders earned a perfect score of 20 on the challenge. Nationally, only 41 fourth graders, 53 fifth graders, and 53 sixth graders achieved this result.

We also had 13 students in grades 3-7 receive recognition for outstanding results.

The students were coached in preparation for the WordMasters Challenge™ by Ms. Tomaselli, Ms. Stellenwerf, Ms. Britton, Ms. Chowbey, and Ms. Kazancioglu.
