Looking for last-minute volunteering opportunities? This is perfect for you! Visit the reference desk to pick up a coloring page, color it at the library, and return it to the reference desk for volunteer time. Completed pages will be mailed to Color A Smile, “a nonprofit organization that distributes cheerful drawings to nursing homes, hospitals, meals on wheels programs, our troops overseas, and anyone in need of a smile.” Spend 15 minutes, a half hour, an hour or two at the library coloring to make a difference!
No need to sign up in advance. Stop in anytime we are open. All pages & materials need to be returned to the reference desk by 8:30pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, & Thursdays; and 4:30pm on Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, & Sundays.
To earn volunteer time, coloring pages should be completed in the library.

"Adopt" a section of the library to maintain throughout the summer by making sure all items are in their correct order and the shelves are kept looking tidy.
Use this link to sign up and choose which section(s) of the library you would like to adopt. You can sign up for up to 5 sections. Once you've signed up, you will need to meet in-person with Kristen, our Teen Librarian, for an overview of the shelf-reading process before you can begin.
After your initial meeting with Kristen, you may volunteer any time the library is open. Scheduling is flexible, but you should plan to commit to a minimum of 2 hours each week.
Inspired by The Sketchbook Project, the Glen Rock Public Library is building a Teen Sketchbook Collection that will be available to browse & check out in the Teen Area. This is a great way to earn volunteer hours while contributing something unique and meaningful not only to the Glen Rock Library, but to the Glen Rock community.
Solo - We will supply you with a mini sketchbook to fill out however you like - draw, color, doodle, word art, collage, mixed media, stories, poems... get as creative as you like! Sign up for your individual sketchbook online.
Collaborative - Not feeling creative enough to fill an entire sketchbook on your own? Check out one of our collaborative sketchbooks instead. Same idea, less time commitment. You can work on this sketchbook either at the library or at home by checking it out for 7 days using your Glen Rock Library card.
