Meet the Staff

Mr. Robert Shellard

Director of Choirs

Mr. Robert Shellard is excited to return for his seventh year at Glenbrook South! A GBS graduate ('09), he holds degrees in Choral Music Education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (BME '13), VanderCook College of Music (MME '18), and American College of Education (M.Ed. '21). Mr. Shellard currently teaches Glee Club, Premier Chorus, Bel Canto Chorale, Master Singers, and AP Music Theory 2/3, as well as directing Fusion, Chamber Singers, and the Glenbrook South Variety Show. He is also the sponsor of Juggling Club (Mondays after school in the East Cafeteria!) and has served as the vocal director of the Glenbrook Musical. Previous to working at GBS, he taught at Barrington, Prospect, and Lake Zurich High Schools. In his spare time, Mr. Shellard enjoys arranging music, cooking, and traveling with his wife Sarah and their dog Oakley.

Mr. Gregory Shifrin (Mr. G)

Choral Accompanist

Mr. Gregory Shifrin is excited to return for his fifth year at Glenbrook South! Mr. Shifrin is a graduate of the Jerusalem Academy of Music and the Hebrew University. In addition to accompanying GBS choirs, Gregory serves as a principal pianist for the Youth Choral Theater of Chicago, Music Institute of Chicago Chorale, Unitarian Church of Evanston, and Congregation Temple Chai (Long Grove). As a member of a piano duo, Mr. Shifrin has won International competitions in the USA and Poland. The Duo has been featured in recitals and performances with orchestras in the USA, Europe, and Israel. Mr. Shifrin lives in Vernon Hills with his wife, Kira, and their two sons.
