Snack - Lunch - Rest Time
Snack
Students will have the opportunity to eat snack in the morning (10:00 am) and in the afternoon (2:00 pm).
Please send two healthy snacks, packed separately from their lunchbox.
I encourage children to bring a water bottle to school daily to keep on their desk and access it when needed. Water bottles will go home each day to be cleaned. Please label bottles clearly with your child’s name.
Lunch
If you are packing your child's lunch, please include a beverage (water/juice box) and items they can open independently. We are scheduled to eat lunch from 11:55-12:25. On short Wednesday's we eat from 11:30-12:00. More information regarding school lunches can be found at School Meals.
Rest Time
We have a short rest time after recess most days. Children are encouraged to bring a beach towel or small blanket. They will be sent home on Friday so that you may clean them and should be returned on Monday.
Backpack - School-to-Home-Folder
Backpack
Student backpacks should be large enough to fit a 10" X 12" folder, a lunch box, water bottle, books, a beach towel or small blanket, and some room to spare would be great too! This will make packing up at the end of the day much easier for your child...and for me! LOL!
School-to-Home Folder
On the first day of school your child was given a yellow School-to-Home Folder. This will be used to send homework and notices to and from school.
Please remove and review papers and notes daily.
Please put any notes, including blue notes, that you have for me in this folder.
Transportation Changes
Whenever there is a change to how your child goes home, via a new bus or another designated adult picks your child up, a note is necessary. You may also email me at BlancatoL@glastonburyus.org, as well as Michelle Stephenson StephensonM@glastonburyus.org or Denise Hassett HassettDe@glastonburyus.org in our office.
Written notification of any change from regular transportation arrangements is REQUIRED by our school policy in order to keep your child safe.
Birthdays
On your child's birthday, he or she will be the Star of the Day! We cannot celebrate with cupcakes, as outside food is not permitted in our classrooms. However, you are welcome to pack an extra special snack for your child. Their name will be announced during morning announcements, our class will sing Happy Birthday to your child, and they'll receive a few goodies from me, as well as from our principal, Mrs. Shirden!
Mask - Change of Clothes
Mask
Mask-wearing will be optional in our school buildings and on our school buses/vans for all students PreK-12 and all staff members. We will emphasize with students that mask-wearing is a personal choice and that everyone’s individual decision should be respected.
Change of Clothes
Accidents happen, so a change of clothes is recommended. They can keep it in their backpack or in their crate at school.
